Why police think creepy Amazon reviews may be linked to potential serial killer

After police have found a chained-up woman and three bodies on his South Carolina property, Todd Kohlhepp confessed to killing at least four people. And now creepy and violent reviews linked to his Amazon account have resurfaced.

The Greenville News reports an Amazon reviewer with the username "me" was linked to an Amazon wish list tied to "Todd Kohlhepp."  "me" reviewed padlocks, tactical gear, knives and gun accessories since 2014.

havnet [sic] stabbed anyone yet...... yet.... but I am keeping the dream alive and when I do, it will be with a quality tool like this...

In one review of a padlock, "me" wrote:

"solid locks.. have 5 on a shipping container.. wont stop them.. but sure will slow them down til they are too old to care. ”

keep in car for when you have to hide the bodies and you left the full size shovel at home.... does not come with a midget...

Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking into Kohlhepp's online activity including the Amazon reviews. Some of the reviews were published just days before the chained woman and her boyfriend were reported missing.

In another case, "me" said a padlock made his place like "hotel california" [sic]. Allusions to the hit Eagles song "Hotel California" also appeared on the final Facebook post of Charlie Carver, who was later found dead on Kohlhepp's property.

The post read: “Last thing I remember, I was running for the door. I had to find the passage back to the place I was before. ‘Relax,’ said the night man. ‘We are programmed to receive. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.’”

The body found in South Carolina was identified as the boyfriend of the chained woman

The background

Initially, police found Kala Brown chained "like a dog" on Kohlhepp's 95-acre property on Thursday. Kohlhepp is a convicted sex offender who served 15 years in prison for raping a teen when he was 14.

He later confessed to killing four people in 2003 at Superbike Motorsports, a case that had since gone unsolved. Three bodies, including Brown's boyfriend Carver, have been found on his property.
