Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump was rushed off stage by Secret Service Saturday night during a rally in Reno, Nevada, according to CBS News.
It is unclear whether there was some sort of threat to his safety.
That was very chaotic. Trump was just rushed off stage by Secret Service. Fights started breaking out in the crowd. Not sure why.— Sopan Deb (@SopanDeb) November 6, 2016
A CBS producer noted that there was some type of commotion near the podium just before he was rushed off stage.
According to CNN, the crowd surged backward as Secret Service and police tactical units rushed to detain a man. The man was then rushed to a side room.
Several people at the rally, however, told CNN the man held up a sign and a fight broke out.
Trump returned shortly after and said, “nobody said it was going to be easy for us. But we will never be stopped. Never, ever be stopped.”
The rally in Reno was his third on Saturday and he is scheduled to make one more stop in Denver.
Trump issued a statement about the incident:
"I would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response."
"I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support," he continued. "Nothing will stop us -- we will make America great again!"
