Kenny Chesney told the Beyhive to stop judging him for looking grumpy at the CMAs

The Beyhive, which is Beyoncé's fan club, was not happy after country singer Kenny Chesney appeared unhappy to see the singer take the stage with the Dixie Chicks at the CMAs Wednesday night.

Take a look at Chesney's face while Beyoncé and the Dixie Chicks performed a new rendition of "Daddy Lessons."

Naturally, the Beyhive was swarming after seeing that face.

But the country singer released a statement Friday saying he loves Beyoncé and her music just as much as anyone else.

"I love Beyonce ... I loved her Super Bowl performance, her sense of how to make the music hit really hard -- and give it drama when she’s onstage," Chesney said in a statement obtained by ABC News

"The idea her fans were so quick to judge me, or know what I was thinking doesn’t feel like the woman I’ve always imagined Beyonce to be -- and honestly, the people who love her music, either."

Chesney added that he was happy to see her perform at the CMAs, despite her not being a traditional country artist.

"Daddy Lessons" is Beyoncé's first country song from her album, "Lemonade."
