Donald Trump said Sunday morning Twitter, Facebook and Google were "burying" the FBI's investigation into emails that may be tied to the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
Trump has insisted the media is part of a conspiracy to rig the election against him as his poll numbers declined.
Wow, Twitter, Google and Facebook are burying the FBI criminal investigation of Clinton. Very dishonest media!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 30, 2016
Here's the Trump tweet in question.
It's not clear what Trump is basing this claim on. This reporter Googled "Clinton FBI" and found nearly 69 million results, many of them from major news organizations like CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
Similarly, "James Comey" was one of the top trending topics on Facebook as of about 11 a.m. Sunday.
However, some Twitter users are reporting #GoHillary is an "artificial trend."
There does not appear to be evidence for this claim either aside from other Twitter users.
Hillary and the Dems loved and praised FBI Director Comey just a few days ago. Original evidence was overwhelming, should not have delayed!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 30, 2016
Trump also attacked Clinton for criticizing Comey.
We are now leading in many polls, and many of these were taken before the criminal investigation announcement on Friday - great in states!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 30, 2016
He also bragged about polls he recently said were rigged.
