WATCH | Sometimes you just have to say, "Enough of this shit!"
Emmy-nominated "Girls" star Lena Dunham did exactly that Thursday night, when Circa asked her to pick a circumstance that makes her think of that precise phrase.
"When something horrible happens in the world, like an unarmed black man gets shot, then you go on social media and everyone's just posting pictures of their suitcase on their way to, like, Antibes ... I think, 'Enough of this shit!'" she said.
Dunham concluded, "Let's be quiet or talk about the matter at hand."
She mulled Circa's questions before a panel Thursday at the New York Television Festival.
Before joining HBO vice president Kathleen McCaffrey for the NYTVF's discussion about the series' development and impact, Dunham and "Girls" showrunner Jenni Konner also revealed to Circa their favorite celebrity cameos from the show.
WATCH | "That's a toughie," Dunham said. "I'm just going to have to say Patti LuPone, 'cause she's Patti LuPone. Patti LuPone brought every kind of energy you could have hoped for and more."
WATCH | Konner agreed, then offered another option: "Rosanna Arquette was also really special and brought an incredible energy to the set that we really welcomed."
