'Fascinated with sex'
There's a lot to unpack there, but probably the strangest moment was when Newt Gingrich, former House Speaker and current Trump surrogate, said Fox News host Megyn Kelly was "fascinated with sex, and you don't care about public policy." (Start at 0:27).
Kelly looks briefly stunned and bemused before retorting, "I'm not fascinated by sex. But I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we're getting in the Oval Office."
WATCH | Kelly, of course, was involved in one of the first bizarre Donald Trump statements on the campaign trail, when he said there was "blood coming out of her... wherever" during a Republican primary debate.
No, I just want to hear you use the words. I want to hear you use the words 'Bill Clinton, sexual predator.' I dare you.
The conversation with Gingrich deteriorated into a discussion about Bill Clinton's sexual misconduct.
How this all wrapped up
"The polls also show that the American public is less interested in the deeds of Hillary Clinton's husband than they are in the deeds of the man who asks us to make him president," Kelly responded before abruptly ending the interview.
The Washington Post has a full transcript if you don't want to watch the interview. (Trust us, it's worth watching.)
Dan Scavino, the Trump campaign's social media manager, thought Kelly was humiliated.
And Gingrich wanted to show off the interview on his own Twitter feed.
In 2007, Gingrich admitted to having an affair with a congressional aide 23 years his junior during the impeachment trial for Bill Clinton. That aide, Callista Bisek, later became Gingrich's third wife, four months after divorcing.
Mostly, bystanders were amused.

Or angered. It's hard to tell sometimes.
