For years now, phones have been getting thinner as screens take up more and more real estate.
Chinese phone maker Xiaomi is taking that to the next level with the Mi MIX. Just look at the screen! (It's hard to miss.)
The Mi MIX was announced as a concept Android phone, but unlike most "concept" versions of things, it has a release date (November 4th, but only in China... for now) and a price (the equivalent of $516). The screen-to-body ratio is 91.3 percent -- a record, according to Xiaomi.
Hugo Barra, international VP for Xiaomi, posted more of the specs.
Here's a hands-on video of the phone in action.
The tech community lost its collective mind at the phone.
Many saw it as a sign of things to come with the iPhone 8.
"What a beauty."
There are so many buzzwords in that tweet.
So what's the downside?
For one, there's not a U.S. release date. (Not yet, anyway.)
Also, The Verge reports when it saw the phone unveiled, it was stuck at 8:16 a.m. So the phone might not even work yet.
