When the officers found the children conscious and alert, it was nothing short of a miracle, that's for sure.
A New Jersey man jumped off an interstate bridge Monday night with two toddlers.
John Spincken, 37, died. They survived, CNN reports.
Earlier that night, police in Pequannock Township in northern New Jersey responded to a domestic dispute. A woman told police her husband threatened to harm her children, ages 1 and 3.
Police tracked down the man's car using the GPS in his phone. They found the man dead but the children seriously injured but conscious. Police believe nearby trees cushioned the fall off of a bridge on Interstate 287 over the Wanaque River.
Here's the state police's press release.
