The Internet dragged Jazmine Sullivan for 'friend-zoning' a fan who passed away

Jazmine Sullivan was trending on social media Wednesday, but not for reasons fans had hoped.

The singer has been at the center of some serious social media slander after screenshots of a since-deleted Instagram-to-Facebook post started making its rounds on the internet Wednesday.

The post that has many fans up in arms over was one Sullivan made in memory of a fan who passed away.

In the post, Sullivan claims she did not know the man well, but nevertheless deemed it appropriate to talk about the unrequited love he had for her and the few special moments they did share.

Some fans took to Twitter to share their disappointment with how she wrote the post.

Others didn't see anything wrong with her post, calling it a "sincere" gesture.

And then there were others, like this user, who were a little bit more on the fence.

Was Jazmine Sullivan wrong or are fans too harsh?
