Google News launched a new 'fact check' feature, just in time for the election

News consumers rejoice! Google News will now help you find fact checks.

We're excited to see the growth of the Fact Check community and to shine a light on its efforts to divine fact from fiction, wisdom from spin.
Richard Gingras, Head of News, Google

In an announcement on the Google blog, Google's head of news said the "fact check" label will appear in expanded news stories.

Google News has already offered other labels like, "highly cited," "local source" or "opinion."

Some are wondering if Facebook will follow suit.

The social media platform has come under some fire for the way it handles trending stories.
