All Galaxy Note 7 phones are banned from US planes

Travelers can't pack, possess or put the devices in a carry-on.

We are taking this additional step because even one fire incident inflight poses a high risk of severe personal injury and puts many lives at risk.
Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx

The ban, effective Oct. 15 at noon eastern time, also precludes the phone from being shipped in planes.

Note 7's can be confiscated and passengers can be fined.

  • Packing your Note 7 in checked luggage increases the risk of a "catastrophic incident."
  • If a crew member notices your Note 7 before boarding, you won't be allowed on the plane unless you get rid of it.
  • Samsung has information about the recall here
