A Bernie Sanders tweet sent the stock of a pharmaceutical company plummeting

Ariad Pharmaceuticals is definitely feeling the Bern. Although maybe not in the way they'd like.

Bernie Sanders took to Twitter today to call out the company over the prices of some of their drugs, specifically tweeting about the price of a leukemia drug, reports The Hill.

After the tweet was sent, Ariad's stock price lost 15 percent of its value. That roughly translates to $387 million.

The Vermont senator has never been shy about tweeting his mind.

The drug Sanders references, Iclusig, can assist in treating a rare form of leukemia. Its price has been raised four times this year alone.

Right now, a 30-day pack of Iclusig costs $16,000.
