A backpack containing a bomb was found yesterday morning between the Nederland Police Department and the Boulder County Sheriff's office, reports CBS News.
A police officer saw the backpack in between the two buildings on his way to work, but assumed that one of his fellow officers had accidentally discarded the bag. He became suspicious when he saw the bag still there after exiting the station hours later.
He investigated, the bomb squad was called and the device was rendered useless.
The bomb was retrieved and sent to Quantico for analysis.
The FBI issued the all clear yesterday morning.
Authorities also investigated a tan Ford Explorer that was parked in the lot after the vehicle's owner came forward with information about the device.
There was a security camera outside of the buildings, but so far there hasn't been any information released about a potential suspect.
