The Broadway Bridge in Little Rock, Ark. was supposed to implode on Tuesday morning.
The bridge had other ideas.
Our partners at KATV broadcast the implosion (well, planned implosion) live.
The charges on the bridge went off at around 10 a.m., and debris was supposed to fall into the Arkansas River so crews could get started on building a replacement for the 93-year-old structure. But it never fell.
The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said the charges all detonated, but the bridge is "in a bind" and is falling into itself.
But the bridge's resilience has inspired the Twitterverse.

The bridge quickly spawned a parody Twitter account.
It even taunted local news...
...And seemed to be in on the news itself.
Of course, someone compared it to Harambe.
And someone else set the implosion video to "Fight Song."
Don't we all, @BeatzBySpace?
It's definitely us. Sorry, Broadway Bridge.
