Arnold Schwarzenegger announced he won't be voting Republican this election

The Governator has taken a stand.

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced in a statement earlier today that he will not be voting Republican for the first time since becoming an American citizen in 1983.

Schwarzenegger's decision comes likely as a result of the leak of a tape depicting a sexually graphic conversation between former Access Hollywood co-host Billy Bush and Republican candidate Donald Trump in 2005.

Arnie released his statement via Twitter.

...it is not only acceptable to choose your country over your party - it is your duty.

In the statement, Schwarzenegger asks his fellow Republicans to remember that America must come before the party of Lincoln.

Schwarzenegger endorsed Ohio Gov. John Kasich in the primaries and campaigned for him.

But with Kasich out of the race, Schwarzenegger is in a bit of a bind. He admits within the statement that he doesn't know how he'll vote.

Thankfully for Arnold, he can be confused all the way to the bank. NBC chose the Governator as Trump's replacement on the hit reality show "Celebrity Apprentice."
