Ben & Jerry's posted a long statement to its website about why 'black lives matter'

Ice cream revolutionaries Ben & Jerry's are one of the latest organizations to address racial inequality in the United States.

The company posted a statement on its website explaining why it believes that black lives matter.

The post did not mention the organization known as Black Lives Matter, but instead addressed systemic racism and justice.

Check out the statement here.

Black lives matter. They matter because they are children, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers.
Ben & Jerry's

Ben & Jerry's is a brand known for being socially conscious, and encourages its employees to pitch in to community service projects.

The company also regularly posts articles to its site discussing racism, including posts that explain systemic racism and how to identify an individual's own inherent biases

The post has won the brand some praise online...

...but others weren't so excited about the statement.
