Demi Lovato said she's 'taking a break' from music after slamming Taylor Swift

Demi Lovato is taking a break from music, the pop star tweeted out on Tuesday to fans.

Why is Demi Lovato taking a break?

The 24-year-old singer said she's taking a break from the spotlight, because she is "not meant for this business and the media."

The announcement comes after Lovato slammed Taylor Swift in a magazine interview.

'Normal body'

In an interview with Glamour Magazine, Lovato suggested Swift could do more for feminism "if they're going to claim that as part of their brand."

She also referenced Swift's "girl squad" saying: "I don't see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body."

Some fans weren't so happy with her comments.

One user suggested Lovato's comments contradicted her stance on body shaming.

Lovato said she won't apologize for her remarks, adding that she's excited for 2017.
