That creepy skull you saw in the Hurricane Matthew forecast isn't Photoshopped


As if a Category 3 hurricane wasn't scary enough.

A colorful satellite image of Hurricane Matthew surfaced on Tuesday that made it look a whole lot like a smirking skull with a red eye. 

That's not a Photoshop job. That's what the forecast actually looks like.

Snopes confirmed the photo's authenticity, adding that the abstract shapes in weather maps can often look like something real.

Here's another version of the same map. It's even more sinister in black.

A Florida meteorologist further confirmed the authenticity.

Maybe it's somehow related to the outbreak of creepy clowns...
