It's no surprise that Disney is re-skinning old rides to show off its Marvel properties.
But the recently unveiled "Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout" ride is getting torn apart on social media.
The plan is to convert the beloved "Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" ride to a Marvel attraction. The ride will close in January and reopen in the summer, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Doesn't CA adventure know by now that we don't want their guardians of the galaxy ride?— Summer Serino (@summerserino) October 5, 2016
But the ride had plenty of critics.
And the ocsar for worse Disney idea go to THIS RIDE!!!? [sic]
On Disneyland's YouTube page, the ride's reveal was flooded with criticism that was harsh -- even by YouTube standards.
"This really does look like a pile of trash from the dump," one user wrote.
A Change.org petition to cancel the ride's creation has more than 35,000 signatures as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Some wore the #hater tag proudly.
