This is the last image Rosetta sent back before crash landing into a comet.
WATCH| A video from the European Space Agency explaining Rosetta's mission and why the satellite decided to go in for a landing.
The probe spent over 12 years traveling. It spent time following a comet as it got closer to the sun and then further away, using different measurements to see how a comet changes as it travels around the solar system.
According to CNN, the company that built the probe said the landing occurred at a speed of about one mile per hour.
Check out some of the final images that Rosetta sent home below.
The final message. Once it landed, Rosetta couldn't communicate with Earth anymore.
