The New York Mets made their rookies dress up in skirts and go get coffee

The New York Mets are having a fantastic season, but today, they took some time off from winning to give their first-year players a proper welcome.

Players, including TJ Rivera, Josh Smoker, Gavin Cecchini, dressed up in the uniforms featured in the 1992 cinema classic "A League of Their Own," which tells the story of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

The rookies were forced to make a Starbucks run early this morning in costume for the team veterans.

The team didn't keep the dress-up party private.

And thank God for that. Check out those gams.

The rookies boarded the bus to their baseball park, Citizens Bank Park, still dressed in the replica uniforms.

The Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 last night, and so their season will continue as they look to qualify for the National League Wild Card game.
