This high school student brought a homemade phone charger to school and got suspended

Levi Frunk, a 15-year-old Oregon high school student, built a phone charger and brought it to school, but was suspended.

To many, the charger looked like an explosive device. But in reality, the machine was a homemade charger he used. He took it to his high school and had left it out in a locker room.

He's super smart. He's always built things, he's always taking things apart.

His coach saw it, called security and had students evacuate the locker room area. Frunk quickly cleared up the confusion, but the damage was already done and he was suspended for a day and a half.

Looking back, Frunk admitted it was a bad idea and that many people probably thought it was an improvised explosive device.

His family laughed off the whole incident, saying not everyone understands Frunk like they do.

The school district claimed that since students were asked to clear an area of the locker room, and since the charger looked like a bomb, Frunk had caused a disruption at school.

Should Levi have gotten suspended for his homemade charger?
