After Donald Trump's performance at the first presidential debate, where most polls and pundits say he lost to Hillary Clinton, he's lashing out with accusations against Clinton and her supporters.
But instead of staying on message -- jobs, law and order, making America great again -- the Republican candidate is taking to Twitter with some super-early tweets disparaging a former beauty queen.
Wow, Crooked Hillary was duped and used by my worst Miss U. Hillary floated her as an "angel" without checking her past, which is terrible!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 30, 2016
Trump took to Twitter on Friday to go off on Clinton and former Miss Universe Alicia Machado.
Using Alicia M in the debate as a paragon of virtue just shows that Crooked Hillary suffers from BAD JUDGEMENT! Hillary was set up by a con.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 30, 2016
He called out Clinton for supporting Machado who has publicly slammed Trump.
Did Crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 30, 2016
He called Machado "disgusting" and eluded to her having a sex tape.
Machado said Trump "insists on discrediting and demoralizing a woman," in an Instagram post.
Here is the full English translation:
"The Republican candidate and his campaign team are again generating new attacks and insults and trying to revive old defamations and false accusations about my life. They're doing all this with the goal of intimidating, humiliating, and throwing me off balance yet again. The attacks are nothing but slander and cheap lies generated with ill intentions, that have no basis and have been distributed by tabloids."
"Of course, this isn't the first time I've encountered a situation like this. Via his hateful campaign, the Republican candidate insists on discrediting and demoralizing a woman, which is emblematic of his most frightening characteristics. Through this, he seeks to distract attention away from his real problems, and from his inability to even pretend to be the leader of this great country."
From fat-shaming for two days to slut-shaming now. And they say Donald Trump can't pivot.— Eli Stokols (@EliStokols) September 30, 2016
Trump's Twitter rant has caused quite the ruckus on social media.
Just four days ago, users were criticizing Trump for body shaming hackers.
What kind of man stays up all night to smear a woman with lies and conspiracy theories?— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) September 30, 2016
Hillary Clinton shot back.
