A Washington D.C. judge released deposition footage of Republican candidate Donald Trump and his son, Donald Jr., Friday morning in which Trump discusses his comments concerning Mexicans made on the day he announced his candidacy.
The depositions are related to a lawsuit that Trump has brought against several restaurant owners who backed out of deals to operate inside of Trump's new hotel in Washington D.C. after the candidate claimed that many illegal immigrants of being criminals and rapists.
Buzzfeed filed motions in court for the videos to be released and was successful.
In the full video, Trump says that his comments about illegal Mexican immigrants were pre-planned, but were never written down.
Trump also says that the restauranteurs were stupid to back out of the deal because they would actually benefit from being in his hotel because he was able to "tap into something" that's popular among the electorate.
Trump claimed that his nomination as the Republican nominee is proof his comments about Mexicans were well received by an electorate.
The candidate also discussed why he was upset with the restaurant owners.
