New MacBooks are coming in October, reports say
Disappointed that Apple didn't introduce new MacBooks alongside the iPhone 7 this September? Fret not, because it looks likes some fresh MacOS laptops are coming in a matter of days -- Oct. 27, Recode reports -- and they'll have some new features worthy of the wait.
A keyboard screen?
The most unique hardware feature rumored to be coming on the new MacBook Pro: a screen to replace the top row of keyboard keys. According to MacRumors, the small touch display, which will be use low-power OLED technology to conserve battery, will offer different virtual buttons in coordination with whatever program is open on the Mac.
The physical keys on the upcoming 2016 MacBook Pro will also get trimmed down to more-so match the low-profile buttons on Apple's thinner MacBook laptop.
Fingerprint sensor, new charging plug (again)
The MacBook Pro will get a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, meaning no more typing in your password EVERY TIME you crack it open.
The new Pro is reportedly also switching to a USB Type-C charging port (MacBook Pro's third charger type in four years), though it's unclear whether it, like the MacBook, will offer just one USB port for charging/hooking up devices.
MacBook Air will also switch to USB charging, Bloomberg reports, and could come Oct. 27, too.
