A part-time police officer in Pennsylvania lost her job after bosses saw a snapchat she had taken a few months earlier in uniform where she used a racial slur, reports WTAE.
Melissa Adamson had worked in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, where she took the photo. She resigned from the department and went to work in another town, McKeesport. It's unclear how her supervisors from the second job got a hold of the photo taken during her first.
Here's the photo in question.
The McKeesport Mayor's office released a statement via Facebook.
In an interview with the television station, Adamson acknowledged that using the slur was a stupid mistake, but also said that she believes the photo was circulated maliciously.
"An altercation happened between me and a former police officer, and he's bringing up his dirt, ruining my career, which has been done," she said in the interview.
