NASA found more evidence that a moon of Jupiter has liquid water. Here's what that means.

NASA released a new video showing evidence that Jupiter's moon Europa has geysers that shoot water from the surface on Monday, after teasing that it saw "surprising activity."

That might not seem too dramatic, but it is strong evidence that Europa has liquid water -- experts think it might have more water than all of Earth's seas combined.

And that means it's a hot choice on the "non-Earth places for humans to live" list.

Why the geyser matters

That geyser's plume would be massive if NASA's calculations are correct. It could shoot 20 times as high as Mt. Everest.

The plume would also be a sign of geological activity, which means that potential life-forms could have an energy source, <b>The Washington Post reports</b>.And while Europa's maximum temperature is a frigid -260 degrees Fahrenheit (<b>according to Space.com</b>), geological activity could mean there's at least one place that's warm enough to support life. It's a long shot, but it's a possibility.

Europa's ocean is considered one of the most promising places that could potentially harbor life in the solar system.

The downside: Scientists admitted this is still a long shot.

"We do not claim to have proven the existence of plumes but rather to have contributed evidence that such activity may be present," William Sparks of the Space Telescope Science Institute said.

At least NASA was kind enough to warn us it wasn't aliens.
