Free-agent defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested just before midnight on Sunday in Richardson, Texas, reports ESPN.
Police reported Hardy was arrested for being in possession of a penalty group 1 drug. That group includes heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, ketamine, oxycodone and hydrocodone. Generally not stuff you want to get mixed up with.
As of Monday afternoon, Hardy is still in county jail with a bond set at $5,000.
The internet is not particularly surprised by the news.
Really, really unsurprised.
Hardy played for the Dallas Cowboys last season. Before that, he played for the Carolina Panthers for five seasons.
Hardy's no stranger to a bit of controversy. He missed the first four games of last season due to a suspension for his involvement in an instance of domestic violence. After completing his suspension, he returned to professional football by making inappropriate comments about New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen.
The Cowboys also had to have conversations with Hardy about his Twitter feed.
