Compared to Photoshop or padding bra

A New York City plastic surgeon is offering trial period-length breast implants, so that prospective patients can make sure they definitely want to change their bodies.

"Not only does it show you if you want to go ahead and proceed," said Dr. Norman Rowe, "but probably more importantly, if you don't."

Dr. Rowe developed the procedure three years ago, and says it gives patients a more comprehensive understanding of what implants are. Dr. Rowe compared to photo manipulation or placing implants into a bra.

"Patients wanted a more realistic feel of what breast implants would be like."

Costs around $2500

Saline solution is injected into the breast through a needle, and the solution is absorbed back into the body over the course of 24 hours.

Injecting saline into other parts of the body, like lips or the nose, is common in plastic surgery.

Instabreasts cost around $2,500, which is applied to the price of surgery if the patient decides to get permanent implants (around $7,000).
