Rapper Shawty Lo died this morning after a car crash in Atlanta



Carlos Walker, aka rapper Shawty Lo, died Wednesday morning in a car crash on I-285 in Atlanta, reports CBS.

Police report that the accident may have been a hit-and-run. Walker's vehicle struck a tree. Another vehicle involved went over a guard rail and caught on fire.

Walker was extracted from the vehicle and died at the scene. Two women in the car with him were taken to the hospital, but their condition and identities are unknown. 

Many online are mourning the rapper's death. 

Condolences are even coming from overseas. 

Walker released his first album in 2007, and he's best known for hits like "Dey Know," "Laffy Taffy" and "Betcha Can't Do it Like Me." He almost starred in his own reality TV show on Oxygen, but the plug was pulled after the show was deemed by many to be stereotypical and exploitative.
