WATCH | UNC Asheville held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the "Bee Hotel," a new structure on campus that will act as a rest spot and nursery for solitary pollinators.
It's the culmination of months of work in collaboration with the Asheville Design Center.
Every plant that's pollinated cannot exist without the insect that pollinates it.
The Bee Hotel supports bee populations that play a vital role in the growth of fruits and vegetables, plants and flowers. These important pollinators are currently in decline. Many species are even on the verge of extinction.
Certain species of bees, butterflies, wasps and moths will be buzzing around the hotel soon.
The ribbon-cutting took place in the pollinator garden on campus.
