Three women in Boussy-Saint-Antoine (which is southeast of Paris) were arrested Thursday night by French authorities in connection to a car containing gas canisters that were left in front of Notre Dame cathedral this week, according to CNN.
A police officer was injured during the arrest when one of the women attacked him with a knife. The injuries are non-life threatening. One of the women was shot during the arrest.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the women were radicalized and planning a violent attack.
There were seven canisters of gas found in the vehicle near Notre Dame. One was empty, but the rest were full. there was no detonator found in the car, CNN reports.
