The Donald Trump Foundation paid a $2,500 fine to the IRS on Monday after it donated 10 times that amount to a campaign group linked to Florida attorney general Pam Bondi in 2013.
Bondi was debating whether or not to investigate Trump University at the time, NBC News reports.
The donation was made to a political group called "And Justice for All." This raised red flags since nonprofits like The Donald J. Trump Foundation are not allowed to donate to campaigns.
This was a minor issue that was brought to the attention of the Foundation and addressed immediately.
Bondi ultimately never opened a case against Trump University. And Trump, speaking to Circa Tuesday, said they never spoke about any donation.
"She never spoke to me at all about whatever the subject matter was. She is a very highly respected and a very honorable person," he said.
Does this seem familiar?
Here's the Trump campaign's official statement on the foundation.
