Last Pulse nightclub shooting survivor discharged from hospital after nearly 3 months


After spending nearly three months in the hospital, the last Pulse nightclub shooting survivor was discharged Tuesday, Orlando Health told the Orlando Sentinel

The patient had been in the hospital since gunman, Omar Mateen, open fire inside an Orlando, Florida, gay nightclub on June 12. 

Orlando Health made the announcement in a tweet Tuesday: "As of today, Orlando Regional Medical Center reports that all 35 Pulse victims who were patients at ORMC have been discharged."

The health system added that surgeons at Orlando Regional Medical Center performed a total of 76 operations on the 35 shooting victims.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, 44 shooting victims were taken to the hospital on the morning of the shooting, but nine died shortly after arriving. 

Hospital officials would not give any other details about the patient who was released Tuesday. 

The Orlando Sentinel reported that the patient was listed in critical condition from June 12 to Aug. 17. 

Forty-nine people were killed and wounded 53 others were wounded in the attack.
