Reno, Nevada resident Greg Nuttle went above and beyond with his generosity as he prepped to attend Burning Man this week, taking to Reddit to find out what festival attendees needed or accidentally left behind.
I'm really excited to give back to the community. If this is something I can do and makes people happy, then that's a gift to me honestly.
The festival takes place in the desert of Gerlach, Nevada, where a lack of readily available convenience stores has meant that in previous years, burners who forgot specific items were simply out of luck. But on Tuesday, Nuttle delivered dozens of items to those "burners" more forgetful than himself.
After obtaining a Burning Man ticket at the last minute, Nuttle decided he wanted to give back to fellow burners. Dozens of Redditors responded requesting common items like toothbrushes and sunscreen, as well as some more obscure items.
The most crucial delivery? A portable toilet. A gentleman told Nuttle that his experience at the festival might be ruined if forced to use the festival's porta potties.
All this is unsurprising from The Burning Man music festival, known for the selfless participation among its attendees and influenced by a core "10 key principles" of natural inclusion, self-sufficiency/expression, neighborly cooperation, communal responsibility, offering, decommodification, presence, togetherness and leaving no trace.
This year's Burning Man festival started on August 28th and will go on util September 5th.
