Deadly attacks in Pakistan
Gunmen wearing suicide vests stormed a Christian neighborhood near the town of Peshawar, killing one civilian. Another suicide bomb attack occurred on a district court in the city of Mardan. The Mardan bombing killed 10 people and wounded 41 others.
Pakistani militants charged through the Christian community early on Friday morning which triggered a shoot-out that resulted in four of the attackers being killed and one Christian dying.
Response by the Pakistani army and police
Army spokesman Lt. Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa said in a statement to the Associated Press that the attack was shut down quickly, and that security forces were still looking for any accomplices to the attack.
Local police official Shaukat Khan said there was a quick response from the local civilian guards and security forces which led to all four of the attackers at the Christian community being killed quickly and preventing further civilian deaths from occurring.
