The first female Army Ranger candidate didn't make the cut



A female soldier in the Army who was trying to join the ranks of the 75th Ranger Regiment did not pass requirements to join the ranks, the ArmyTimes reported.While three women have graduated from the Army Ranger School,  this woman would have been the first would have been the first to join the 75th Ranger Regiment through the "75th Ranger Regiment's Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 2."

"The female soldier did not meet performance objectives required for assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment," Lt. Col. Robert Bockholt, a military spokesman, said according to ArmyTimes.

She will be allowed to reapply for the assessment program beginning in December.

ArmyTimes reported that Bockholt said the woman, whose name or specialty he would not provide, was the first woman to attend RASP 2 and that she had not attempted or attended the Army's Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia.
