Researchers have spent seven years and $1.3 million dollars of tax money to tell us that koozies do, in fact, insulate our beer.
Scientists point out in the abstract for these grants that the bigger purpose is to "inform students and the general public about the importance of condensation." The researchers say their initial experiment with koozies in a basement bathroom is part of a larger project on weather, studying heat transfer, water vapor and global warming.
But their publications on study results are getting online criticism for "not gaining much knowledge."
All at the expense of taxpayers who already know what a koozie can do.
