Colin Kaepernick wore controversial ‘pig’ cop socks during practice

It appears that over the past few weeks during football practice, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been wearing socks that show a pig in a cop's hat.

Photos from the NFL team's practice on Aug. 10th and Aug 12th show Kaepernick wore supposedly anti-police apparel.

Kaepernick wore the socks before his silent protest of the national anthem on Aug. 26th. He said he partook in this protest to bring attention to the oppression of black people in the United States.

These were the quirky socks he wore.

Here's his explanation for why he wore them and what they symbolize.

Kaepernick, who is a quarterback for the 49ers, will be in San Diego this week, where he's expected to continue his protest (of not standing during the national anthem) before a game against the Chargers.

The Chargers  will be honoring 240 military members before the national anthem.

Somebody decided to post a link showing how to buy the same kind of socks if people wanted to.

The New York Post contributed to this report.
