Burning Man has started, but the Burning Man statue was upside down and headless

You'd think at a festival called Burning Man, the Burning Man would be top priority.

This year, the titular statue got stuck upside down and was missing his giant wooden head when the festival started on Sunday, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Crews found out a gear that was supposed to rotate the statue like a Ferris wheel was broken. He's expected to re-open on Tuesday and be burned (of course) on Saturday.

The official Burning Man Twitter account didn't seem fazed.

Something huge is rumored to be at Burning Man - if you're into Pokémon GO.

Hey, speaking of big statues in the middle of nowhere, who knew there was a miniature Mount Rushmore in...Virginia?
