Tramp, an 18-week old pit bull puppy was stung by hundreds of bees outside his Arizona home last Saturday.
With as many stings as he had, he had more than enough to kill 50 percent of dogs his size,
The puppy's entire body was swollen, covered in welts and even experienced muscle tremors. Veterinarian Dr. Cynthia Jones said Tramp is lucky to be alive.
Dr. Jones went on to say that she has never seen a case this awful and her vet team had to pull out more than 400 stingers from the small dog's body.
Tramp's owner Jeremy Denoyer, took him and his other dog Lady out last Saturday morning. Denoyer said he heard Tramp yelping and figured he just wanted to come inside. When he went to check on Tramp, he saw his youngest pup being attacked by a swarm of bees. Tramp's owner immediately jumped into action to save his pup, but after getting stung multiple times, his only choice was to barricade himself inside. Turns out the bee hive was located outside of the vacant house next door.
Firefighters eventually had to foam down both the vacant home and Denoyer's home, but not without Denoyer getting stung 20 times, bees stinging his eldest dog Lady 50 times and Tramp more than 400 times. Tramp was rescued and rushed to the vet with hundreds of bee stings which covered his belly, eyes, ears and even in his mouth. The puppy was injected shots of antihistamine, steroids and given an IV of fluids.
The current estimate for Tramp's vet bills are around $2,000. Friends and neighbors have set up a GoFundMe Account , which has already raised over $3,000 in five days.
