An Austin brewery stopped canning beer to help save lives in Louisiana

Oskar Blues brewery in Austin, Texas is canning water to send to Baton Rouge, Louisiana after historic floods ravaged the city.

So far Oskar Blues has canned about 16,800 cans of water.

The brewery's non-profit branch, the CAN'd AID Foundation helped coordinate the efforts.

We have a place on our hearts for those that are going through disaster relief.
Sarah Leavitt, Program Director CAN'd AID

The foundation coordinates numerous disaster relief efforts across the country and was launched after the 2013 floods that wrecked Colorado, where the brewing company is headquartered.

We've been using our network to get water out as quickly as possible and fun to see it helping communities in need.
