When TheWrap reported Thursday that actress Zendaya Coleman would be playing Peter Parker's boo in next summer's "Spider-Man: Homecoming," Twitter just about lost its mind.

Coleman, 19, landed the role of Mary Jane Watson, one of the most familiar love interests in the Marvel superhero's universe.
Twitter celebrated and welcomed Coleman as their Mary Jane not only because the Cover Girl is a talented actress, but because she represents a defining moment for the black community.
She will be the first African-American to play Spiderman's love interest.
