Baseball star Alex Rodriguez played his final game with the New York Yankees Friday, effectively exiting the sport -- for the time being.
While rumor has it the Miami Marlins were looking to draft him for the remainder of the 2016, his publicist quickly shut those down on Monday.
But even after taking his last swing, A-Rod described his departure as "taking a nap."
He's said he wants to take this next year to relax and spend time with friends and family.
Rodriguez has also said that he would consider re-joining the Yankees in the 2017 season as an advisor, but even General Manager Brian Cashman has said the storied organization won't hold him to it, perhaps in case he decides to make a comeback.
In case you were curious, he's from Miami, hence the speculation around the Marlins.
Meanwhile, the Yankees owe him $21 million in 2017.
