UPDATE: Swiss man killed after setting fire and stabbing six people on a train


UPDATE: The attacker has died of his wounds, AP reports.

In northeast Switzerland, police say a Swiss man started a fire and stabbed at least six people, wounding them, as well as himself. 

The incident occured on Saturday afternoon as the train neared the station in Salez, close to the border with Liechtenstein. 

Police say the 27-year-old suspect had at least one knife and used flammable liquid to start the fire.

The suspect is currently being held in police custody.

The wounded included a 6-year-old child, two men aged 17 and 50, and three women aged 17, 34 and 43. Some of the injuries were said to be serious but no further details were given immediately.

Police were still investigating the motive of the attacker. Currently, the police do not believe the incident was terrorist-related.  

An initial estimate says that over $103,000 worth of damages rocked the train.
