Gabby Douglas found herself at the center of attention during the Olympic games this week, and it wasn't for her one-armed cartwheels.

People got into a heated debate on social media when the 20-year-old U.S. women's gymnast did not place her hand over her heart when playing "The Star-Spangled Banner" during the team medal ceremony Tuesday night.

Douglas respond to her critics: "I always stand at attention out of respect for our country."
