Apparently, Olympic gold medalists Katie Ledecky and NBA legend Michael Jordan go way back. Back to 2000 according to this photo from a Washington Wizards game.
Michael Jordan, who won gold with the U.S. men's basketball team in 1984 and 1992, is pictured sitting near Washington Wizards minority owner Ted Leonsis, front center, and attorney George Stamos, just right of Leonsis.
But surely no one knew they were also sitting near a future Olympian.
According to ESPN, Katie Ledecky's uncle Jon Ledecky, who was then a part-owner of the Capitals, took his 2-year-old niece to the game.
Now, 16 years later, that little girl is all grown up and is a two-time gold medal winner.
Sunday night, she even broke her own record in the 400m freestyle.
Ledecky has also been compared to Jordan because of her eccentric post-race tongue wag.
