The state with the worst drivers is always the state next to the one you're from.
Unless you're from Florida, in which case, it's your state.
A report from SmartAsset ranked the states' driving from worst to best, base on DUI arrests, deadly crashes, Google searches for "speeding tickets," and the percentage of insured drivers. And Florida earned the dubious honor of having the worst drivers in the U.S.
And it might be contagious. Four of the ten worst states were in the Southeast.
Florida led the nation in Google searches for "speeding tickets" and had the second-fewest insured drivers.
Here's the full top 10:
- New Jersey
- Delaware (which leads the nation in deaths per driver)
Nobody was too surprised by Florida's top score.
