Rio 2016 Olympics: Williams sisters upset in doubles, US women go for gymnastics gold

It's only day two of the Rio 2016 Olympics and there are already some big developments.

Venus and Serena Williams, the reigning Olympic doubles champions, were knocked out in the first round.

Venus Williams, 36, was also knocked out in the first round of singles.

Serena still has time to defend her singles title from the 2012 games in London.

If you're shocked and upset by this news, don't worry the rest of the Internet is too:

On a positive note, the U.S. women's Olympics gymnastics team left everything on the mat -- in the best way possible.

The U.S team scored 185.238, topping China, Russia, Britain and Brazil, according to USA Today.

Simone Biles and Aly Raisman qualified as the top two in the all-around final. Gabby Douglas, the defending all-around medalist, finished third but cannot compete in the all-around competition because of the two per country rule.

The U.S. will have two gymnasts in every event except for vault.
