Oscar Pistorius suffers wrist injuries while serving prison sentence

Oscar Pistorius was treated for minor wrist injuries after falling in a South African prison, where he's serving six years for murdering his girlfriend.

According to CNN, the Olympic sprinter returned to his cell in Pretoria on Saturday after receiving treatment for his injuries.

Pistorius' brother, Carl Pistorius, tweeted Sunday saying the athlete once known as the "Blade Runner" had "slipped in his cell and injured himself, nothing serious."

Carl Pistorius also said media reports claiming his brother had tried to injure himself were "completely untrue and sensational."

Oscar Pistorius is serving time for killing Reeva Steenkamp at his home on Valentine's Day three years ago.

In court, Pistorius maintained that he fired three bullets through his bathroom door, mistaking Steenkamp for an intruder.

The prosecution, however, said the Olympic athlete intentionally killed her after an argument.

Pistorius was originally convicted of manslaughter, but a higher court overturned that conviction and found him guilty of murder.
